Interior Ministry praised for ensuring public security and safety in Bahrain during Eid

The Bahrain Cabinet commended the efforts made by the Ministry of Interior in maintaining public security and safety, along with other ministries and government agencies that have provided various services during the Eid Al Adha holidays.

This came as the Deputy Prime Minister, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, chaired yesterday the weekly Cabinet Meeting at Gudaibiya Palace. The Cabinet congratulated the pilgrims from the Kingdom of Bahrain on their safe return from the Hajj pilgrimage.

It expressed thanks and appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for providing the utmost comfort and care to all pilgrims, including the Kingdom of Bahrain’s pilgrims, and congratulated Saudi Arabia’s leadership, government, and people on the successful organisation of this year’s Hajj season.

The Cabinet welcomed Bahrain being awarded the best office for Pilgrims’ Affairs, among the three countries that received the highest satisfaction ratings from their pilgrims for the Hajj season 1444, as part of the “Labbaytum” Award presented by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia.

Inspection campaigns

The Cabinet directed the continuation of inspection campaigns targeting irregular workers across the Kingdom’s governorates, and to increase oversight over workers who violate labour market regulations.

During the meeting, the Cabinet discussed several memorandums and approved the following:

1. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding a draft decree amending certain provisions of the decree establishing the General Sports Authority.

2. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding a draft decree to amend Article 1 of the decree appointing the relevant ministry and naming the relevant minister tasked with implementing the decree-law governing public fundraising.

3. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding an MoU between the Ministry of Education and Samsung Gulf Electronics.

4. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding an MoU between the Central Bank of Bahrain and the Central Bank of Kuwait.

5. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding a framework between the Bahrain Institute for Banking and Financial (BIBF), the Abdulla bin Khalid College of Islamic Studies and the Central Bank of Bahrain’s Waqf Fund.

6. A memorandum by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs outlining the government’s response to three proposals submitted by the Council of Representatives. The Cabinet further reviewed a memorandum submitted by the Minister of Shura and Parliament Affairs regarding the work of the first ordinary session of the sixth legislative term.

The Cabinet noted the following ministerial reports:

1. The outcomes of Bahrain’s participation in the 53rd regular session of the Arab Information Ministers Council.

2. The external participation of government officials and the visits of foreign delegations to the Kingdom of Bahrain during this month.
