High-ranking officials from Bahrain and the GCC Railways Authority yesterday reviewed the progress in establishing the rail link between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia via the King Hamad Causeway.
The meeting focused on updates regarding the transitional phase of the King Hamad Causeway project and the construction of the railway track leading to the King Hamad International Station in Al Ramli.
Officials also examined in detail the engineering designs and meeting points along the railway line connecting the two nations. Present during the discussion were Hussein Ali Yaqoub, Assistant Undersecretary of Land Transportation at the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, and the GCC Railways Authority, led by Nasser Hamad Al Qahtani and Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Samaani.
Established in 2022, the GCC Railways Authority holds the responsibility of shaping the overall policy for the GCC railway network. It also plays a vital role in coordinating among member states to ensure the implementation and operation of the railway project.
