Bahrain King signs deals on financing, investment and space exploration

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa signed three crucial agreements, marking significant progress for Bahrain. The first agreement pertains to direct financing for the Al Dur Phase 2 project, specifically the water transmission project at the Al Dur Independent Power and Water Plant (Al Dur IWPP).
This agreement received approval from the Shura and Representatives Council on July 7, 2022. The second agreement was a bilateral deal between Bahrain and Japan on the reciprocal promotion and protection of investment.
The signing ceremony took place in Manama on June 23, 2022. Both agreements will take effect one day after their publication in the Official Gazette, ensuring their legal implementation. Additionally, His Majesty approved Bahrain’s participation in the Artemis Accords.
The Artemis Accords, which focus on the principles of cooperation in civil exploration and the peaceful utilization of celestial bodies such as the Moon, Mars, comets, and asteroids, were launched on October 13, 2020. This agreement takes immediate effect and will be published in the Official Gazette.
