'No medical lapse in Salmaniya Medical Complex patient’s death'

The Government Hospitals in Bahrain have confirmed that there were no lapses in medical care following a preliminary investigation into allegations surrounding the death of a patient at the Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC).
According to the authority, there was no delay in providing the necessary treatment to the patient, who had been admitted to the hospital three days prior to the unfortunate passing.
It said the medical team at SMC diligently followed all required procedures within the established protocols for such cases. Further, the authority expressed sincere condolences and sympathy to the family and relatives of the deceased, acknowledging that the loss of any patient’s life is a deeply distressing event for the entire medical community in government hospitals.
The authority also emphasized the need for a thorough investigation to ensure safety and adherence to medical procedures. The Government Hospitals said it is committed to conducting a comprehensive investigation into the incident promptly.
The National Health Regulatory Authority will investigate all circumstances surrounding the incident in accordance with the applicable laws. Emphasizing dedication to patient care, the Governmental Hospitals affirmed their utmost commitment to providing comprehensive healthcare services for all individuals, adhering to approved health protocols and standards.
The statement assured that any failure to deliver the necessary healthcare services, if proven, would be met with appropriate measures across all healthcare institutions.
