SMC performs over 1,600 successful surgeries in June

The Operations Department at Salmaniya Medical Complex has successfully performed 1,654 surgeries during the month of June. This was announced by Dr. Ahmed Muhammed Al Ansari, Chief Executive Officer of Government Hospitals, as he noted that it is part of the plan to reduce waiting lists and improve healthcare services.
The surgeries covered a wide range of medical specialties, including 13 different areas within the Salmaniya Medical Complex. The Government Hospitals is committed to developing and enhancing services across all facilities, with a particular focus on Salmaniya Medical Complex.
The surgeries performed in June included 24 dental and maxillofacial surgeries, 323 general surgeries, 291 orthopedic surgeries, 35 vascular surgeries, 21 neurosurgery operations, 167 ear, nose and throat surgeries, 169 obstetrics and gynecology surgeries, 120 urology surgeries, 101 pediatric surgery operations, 45 plastic and burn surgery operations, 235 endoscopic procedures, 15 anesthesia procedures, and 108 eye surgeries.
Dr. Al Ansari commended the efforts of the health cadres in the Operations Department of Salmaniya Medical Complex for their dedication and hard work, adding that their commitment has enabled them to serve a larger number of patients and reduce waiting lists.
He emphasised the importance of patients adhering to their appointments to ensure timely access to healthcare services and to avoid any disruptions to their treatment plans. The Government Hospitals is continuously working on rescheduling appointments according to the established methodology to ensure the efficient delivery of healthcare services.
The goal is to provide patients with timely and high-quality care. The successful completion of these surgeries is a testament to the dedication and expertise of healthcare professionals.
