Traffic signs and poles installation and maintenance completed

The Ministry of Works has completed the installation and maintenance of 312 traffic signs and 202 iron and concrete poles from January to June this year, which aims to raise the level of traffic safety and improve traffic flow.
Engineer Maha Khalifa Hamada, Director of the Roads Planning and Design Department at the Works Ministry, said that the ministry periodically conducts a comprehensive survey of the traffic signs, poles and land lines on the road network in the Kingdom.
She added that the ministry prepares an annual program for the maintenance of traffic signs and poles, and repaints the land lines and heights to reduce speed. Eng. Hamada noted that during the first half of this year, the installation and maintenance of 64 reflective mirrors was completed; 470 speed-reducing ramps were repainted; and 189 km of land lines and 67 km of sidewalks were painted.
She pointed out that the ministry has received about 1,625 requests regarding traffic signs and land lines from members of the Municipal Council, citizens and residents through the national system for complaints and suggestions, Tawasul, or through direct contact, during the first half of 2023, which contributed to the speed Monitor damaged traffic signs and poles and maintain them as soon as possible.
The Director affirmed that the ministry will spare no effort in carrying out its role to raise the level of safety on the road network to preserve the lives and property of road users.
