Controversy has struck social media platforms after a new study revealing Bahrain as one of the hardest countries in the world to learn how to drive emerged. Zutobi released the report "The Easiest and Hardest Countries to Learn to Drive," which looked at data for every country in the world, leaving out 87 countries that they could not find complete data for. However, of the 108 countries that were included in the report, Bahrain was ranked as one of the toughest places to drive.

The Global Zutobi Index considered factors such as test difficulty, minimum driving age, and testing requirements to determine the ease of obtaining a driver’s license. But netizens, for the most part, disagree with the study for various reasons. For example, social media user Mustafabedin said, "It depends on the driving instructor and his way of teaching.

But in my opinion, Bahrain is one of the easiest countries to learn how to drive. My two eldest children have passed the first test, unlike many countries that have oral and written tests to apply for practical classes." Environmanbahrain cited the reckless driving on the road as one reason why the Kingdom is an easy country to obtain a license. "Everyone who can hold a steering wheel can get a license in Bahrain. The result is shown on the road with reckless drivers not complying with the road regulations."

Munther_kooheji agreed with this saying: "Just notice the drivers around you and how they drive, and you can easily tell they haven’t gone through a proper driving course." However, other netizens claim that it can be difficult to obtain a license in Bahrain, not specifically due to the driving test but due to the language barriers expats face. Anninjacob said: "I somewhat agree that Bahrain can be difficult to get a driver’s license, mainly due to the language barrier; it can definitely be a hurdle for some expats."
