Labour Minister Jameel bin Mohammad Ali Humaidan has highlighted Bahrain’s efforts in protecting social and human rights for workers and combating human trafficking.
This came as Humaidan, also Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), received Ali Ahmed Al Derazi, President of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR).
The minister said Bahrain’s integrated system for protecting human rights, particularly workers, is aligned with the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and with the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He highlighted that Bahrain passed compatible legalisation by aligning national labour laws with International Labor Organization (ILO) standards, promoting a safe work environment and preserving workers’ rights.
Al Derazi praised the Labour Ministry and LMRA for supporting efforts to promote and protect human rights, emphasising NIHR’s support for workforce rights consolidation in Bahrain.
