Bahrain King commends Ashura preparations

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa praised the initiatives implemented by the concerned authorities to ensure the success of Ashura Commemoration, in accordance with the Bahraini society’s specific features, based on authentic all-inclusive identity, coexistence, compassion and cohesion.
HM the King was speaking as he received, in the presence of His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM’s Personal Representative and Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Royal Court Minister, HM’s Advisors and a number of officials at the Safriya Palace yesterday.
The meeting focused on local issues and topics. His Majesty expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by the Ministry of the Interior and the statements made by heads of Maatams (community centres) that reflect national responsibility and awareness to ensure the success of the important event.
He emphasised the organisational efforts and all the security and community services provided to ensure the smooth practice of Ashura rituals. HM King Hamad stated that using accurate and reliable resources is crucial when it comes to Bahrain’s history and people, pointing out some unreliable publications that have been previously published cannot be used as historical references as they include false information that cannot be trusted.
HM the King also received artist Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Ameen Al Khaja, accompanied by Brigadier General Dr. Haitham Amin, who presented His Majesty with his paintings. He expressed his thanks to Al Khaja and praised his efforts in preparing the distinguished art pieces, wishing him further success in his career. His Majesty expressed his pride in Bahraini artists and their contributions that reflect Bahrain’s culture and civilisation.
