Former Indian President Ram Nath Kovind is set to visit Bahrain from September 7 to 9.

A press conference to announce the details of his visit was held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Manama.

This visit is being organised by the Sree Narayana Cultural Society, Gurudeva Social Society, and Guru Seva Samithi Bahrain Billawas as part of the 169th birth anniversary of Sree Narayana Guru.

He is also scheduled to meet with the Indian community in Bahrain.

On September 8, Kovind is expected to participate in a public event titled "Tribute to Bahrain" at the Indian School, Bahrain, and it will feature various cultural programmes.

As a part of the programme, the organising committee is expected to conduct a Children's Parliament discussion under the theme "The Confluence of Cultures and the Spirit of Humanism."

The visit comes at a time when both countries are looking to strengthen their economic ties.

Bahrain is a major trading partner for India, and the two countries have recently signed a number of agreements to boost trade and investment.
