Bahrain has announced a two-month ban on fishing kingfish, known as Chan'ad, from August 15 to October 15.
The ban aims to increase kingfish stocks, regulate fishing, and prevent the exhaustion of fisheries.
The Agriculture and Marine Resources Affairs Department at the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture will take all necessary measures to implement the ban.
Violations of Decree-Law 20/2002 on fishing regulation, exploitation, and marine wealth protection will be held accountable.
The ban aligns with the resolution taken by the Agricultural Cooperation Committee at the Gulf Cooperation Council.
