Bahrain to mark World Humanitarian Day today

Bahrain will mark the UN World Humanitarian Day, annually observed on August 19, in honour of humanitarian aid workers worldwide. The Kingdom, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, has become a role model for humanitarian initiative and charity work, providing relief aid to disaster-hit peoples, Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Salah Al Saleh said in a statement on this occasion.

He commended Bahrain’s humanitarian record and charity contributions, citing mainly the delivery of medical aid and the construction of educational and social projects in many affected countries.

Al Saleh congratulated HM the King and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The Shura head hailed HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s keenness on supporting humanitarian and charity schemes, lauding the Government’s efforts which contributed to enhancing Bahrain’s standing.

He also praised the role played by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF) Board of Trustees’ Chairman.

Congratulations

Council of Representatives Speaker Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam congratulated HM King Hamad and HRH Prince Salman on today’s occasion. In a statement yesterday, he hailed Bahrain’s contributions to humanitarian work and commitment to dispatching relief aid to people in countries and regions struck by disasters.

Al Musallam commended the role of the Government in support of international efforts, which further enhanced the standing of the Kingdom. He also congratulated HH Shaikh Nasser.
