There has been a 38% decrease in speeding violations in Bahrain since the start of 2023, compared to the same period last year.

This was announced by the Director-General of Traffic, Brigadier Abdulrahman bin Abdulwahab Al Khalifa.

He said that the reduction reflects the Bahraini community’s awareness and drivers’ dedication to following traffic rules by avoiding overspeeding, which is the main reason behind serious accidents.

The official added that the directorate would continue, per the instructions of HE Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, to promote traffic safety. The traffic work is divided into field and media campaigns and law enforcement.

The directorate would continue introducing smart systems to limit improper traffic practises. He lauded law-abiding drivers as role models and contributors to increasing safety rates, as well as the partnership with other government and private organisations in enhancing awareness.
