The lack of parking spaces in crowded areas in Bahrain has led to commuters using bus bays and roadside parking, causing traffic congestion and wasting valuable time.
The Daily Tribune interviewed drivers who highlighted the need for solutions, including new parking facilities, smart parking systems, and encouraging shared transportation.
Mohammed Danish believes smart parking in crowded areas like Gudaibiya, Hoora, and Manama could be a great solution, as there is limited space for new parking lots and people often park at available spaces far away.
Smart parking systems use sensors to detect free parking slots and communicate them through the internet to car drivers.
Basheer Pareed, who has been driving in Bahrain for over 10 years, complains about the decreasing number of parking spaces and the long waiting times for finding a parking spot.
He suggests constructing more parking spaces as a solution. Shamil, another resident, requests the government to create more parking spaces.
While smart parking and building new spaces are possible solutions, authorities need to take action to address the parking issues in Bahrain.
