The Indian Embassy organised an open house, chaired by Ambassador Designate H.E. Mr. Vinod Kurian Jacob. The Embassy’s consular team and panel of lawyers were also present. More than 75 Indian nationals participated in the open house, conducted in Hindi, English, Tamil, and Malayalam.
Ambassador Designate expressed happiness at the overwhelming participation of Indian community members at the flag hoisting ceremony organised by the Embassy to celebrate the 77th anniversary of India’s independence on August 15.
He urged the community members to download the new mobile application 'EoIBh Connect' as a way to get online appointments to avail consular and visa services at the Indian Embassy and IVS Global as well.
He also conveyed his gratitude to the local authorities for their prompt support and cooperation. The ambassador also thanked the Indian community and organisations for their assistance in resolving a number of consular and labour matters.
The Embassy continued to help distressed Indian nationals, including housemaids, by providing boarding and accommodation, as well as granting emergency certificates and tickets to persons in need through the Indian Community Welfare Fund.
It was a productive, interactive session. The grievances and issues of the Indian community were successfully addressed; some were resolved at the open house, while others will be taken up at the earliest possible date. Mr Jacob thanked all the Indian associations and community members for their active participation in the open house.
