The Bahrain Public Health Department has held a three-day workshop titled "Breastfeeding from a Scientific Perspective and Practical Application" to support breastfeeding in the kingdom.
The event, organized in collaboration with Al Salam Hospital, involved the Specialty Committee, Breastfeeding Support Committee, Monitoring of Breastmilk Substitutes, and various governmental and private hospitals and primary health care centers.
The workshop aims to develop maternal and child health and nutrition programs by training health workers to provide advice on breastfeeding and address inappropriate promotion of breast-milk substitutes.
The goal is to create a supportive environment for breastfeeding and ensure the best health care for mothers and children, ultimately achieving the accreditation of all hospitals and medical centers in the Kingdom.
The workshop was presented by specialized consultants in motherhood and childhood, and included health workers from both government and private hospitals and primary health care.
