Banking sector spurs economic growth in Bahrain: Finance Minister

The sector of finance and banking is playing a vital role in supporting economic development and spurring growth, said Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa.
He highlighted Bahrain’s commitment to creating an ecosystem that supports the financial and banking sector, which strengthens the Kingdom’s competitiveness as a key regional and international hub.
The minister made the statements as he received Abdulfattah Sharaf is the Chairman of the Board of HSBC Bank Middle East (HBME) and Stephen Moss, Regional Chief Executive Officer for the Middle East, North Africa and Turkiye.
Other bank officials attended. Shaikh Salman stressed the importance of exchanging expertise and premium practices with leading financial and banking powerhouses towards serving goals set out. During the meeting, the two sides also reviewed key issues of common interest, in addition to important regional and global financial markets development.
