Drug dealer gets 5-year jail

A man accused of selling hashish and shabu, two forms of illicit drugs, was handed down five years in prison. He was also fined BD3000 by the High Criminal Court. 

The accused was arrested after he was lured by an officer in plain clothes into selling BD100 worth of shabu. The pair met in Hamad Town, and officers pounced on him as soon as he handed the drugs to the officer and received the money.

A digital scale and a bag of shabu were found in his apartment during inspection. Traces of hashish were also found in his saliva as he underwent drug test. He was also charged with the consumption of unlawful drugs.

The accused was tried before the High Criminal Court which ordered the confiscation of all the illegal materials, which were found in his possession.
