Southern Governorate partners with WHO for Riffa Healthy City program

His Highness Southern Governor Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa received a letter of cooperation from the World Health Organization, marking the beginning of the Riffa Healthy City Accreditation Program.
This program aims to meet the standards and requirements set by the Healthy Cities Program, in collaboration with relevant authorities.
His Highness emphasised that launching the program from Riffa demonstrates the governorate’s commitment to public health and encourages active community participation.
This came as HH the Southern Governor received Dr. Tasneem Atatreh, representative of the World Health Organization (WHO), in the presence of Dr Wafa Al Sharti, Director of the Health Promotion Directorate at the Ministry of Health, and a number of officials from the governorate and the Ministry of Health.
Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa welcomed the participants at the beginning of the meeting. He stressed the importance of cooperation and coordination between the WHO and the Ministry of Health.
