Bahrain supports Asian cooperation, partnership

Bahrain affirms its support for the Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD), as an active and founding member, to achieve its goals of promoting Asian cooperation and partnership.

Areas of cooperation include food, water and energy security, information technology, telecommunications and innovation, education, health, human resources development, culture and tourism, and economic, trade and financial cooperation.

Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the Undersecretary for Political Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, made the statements as he chaired the third Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) Senior Officials Meeting, which was held virtually and attended by Dr. Pornchai Danvivathana, the ACD Secretary General.

The Undersecretary expressed his thanks and appreciation to Dr. Danvivathana for supporting the chairmanship of Bahrain of the ACD in its current session. He highlighted the success of the high-level meetings to discuss the “Bahrain Declaration” which will be issued during the eighteenth ministerial meeting of the ACD to be hosted by Bahrain on the sidelines of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.

Dr. Shaikh Abdullah underlined Bahrain’s support for joint Asian efforts and exchanging expertise and investments to support comprehensive and sustainable development for a safer and more prosperous Asian community, within the framework of the ACD Vision for Asia Cooperation 2030.

The ACD Secretary General thanked Bahrain for supporting efforts to promote Asian cooperation and to contribute to international security and peace and to economic and social prosperity.
