Private sector active partner in Bahrain's progress

Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa has stressed the prominent role played by the private sector as an essential and active partner in supporting the paths of economic development.

Shaikh Salman noted the importance of continuing to build on the economic achievements within the process of joint Gulf action in a way that benefits everyone in all member countries.

The Minister was speaking as he met the heads of the Arab Gulf states’ chambers of commerce, on the sidelines of their participation in the meetings of the Council of the Federation of Chambers of State of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

Present in the meeting, which was hosted by the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, were Mr. Jassim Muhammad Al Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, and BCCI President Mr. Samir bin Abdullah Nass.

Shaikh Salman praised the achievement of the joint Gulf action process in terms of integration and coordination that contribute to achieving the region’s common aspirations and goals.

He affirmed the BCCI’s prominent role in representing the commercial and industrial sectors and helping sustain the kingdom’s economic progress.

The Minister pointed to the importance of the role of the Gulf private sector in achieving economic growth rates despite the global challenges, saying that it is important to expand cooperation and integration between the public sector and the Gulf private sector, address challenges and transform them into qualitative opportunities, and adopt initiatives that advance prospects for joint cooperation.
