Support vowed to France

The Joint Bahraini-French Committee held its second meeting here yesterday. Bahrain’s delegation was headed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary, Abdulla Abdullatif Abdulla, while the French side was headed by Ambassador Jerome Bonnafont, Director of North Africa and Middle East Directorate at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development. 

The Bahraini delegation also included Bahrain’s Ambassador to the French Republic, Dr Mohammed Abdulghafar Abdulla, and representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Information Affairs, Shura Council and Council of Representatives Affairs, Ministry of Education and the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The meeting discussed issues related to improving cooperation between the two countries. It also focused on the latest regional and international developments of mutual interest. In this regard, Bahrain condemned the recent terrorist attacks in Paris, affirming Bahrain’s solidarity and support to France in combating such heinous acts.

The minutes of the meeting were signed by Ambassador Abdulla Abdullatif Abdulla signed on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain and Ambassador Jerome Bonnafont signed on behalf of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development.

The delegations expressed their keenness to hold the committee’s third meeting in Manama next year.
