HRH Prince Salman arrives in US on official visit

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, yesterday arrived in the United States, on an official visit to meet with senior officials from the US administration.

During the visit, His Royal Highness will hold discussions to develop bilateral relations and cooperation to meet common aspirations.

Upon arrival, His Royal Highness was received by the National Security Advisor, Secretary-General of the Supreme Defence Council, and Commander of the Royal Guard, His Highness Lieutenant-General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, HE Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, the Minister of Finance and National Economy, HE Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the Minister of Sustainable Development, HE Noor bint Ali Al Khulaif, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United States of America, HE Shaikh Abdulla bin Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, and other senior officials.

Security cooperation: The Parties agree to further implement existing security agreements and arrangements, and to meet on a regular basis to discuss ways to further integrate air and missile defense capabilities, special operations forces, intelligence capacity, cyber security, strategic communication, and mutual awareness of emerging threats.

They also agree to coordinate on a regular basis on military and defense matters, and to hold a Defense Working Group annually to review progress on implementation of this Article.

Economic cooperation: The Parties agree to deepen and strengthen their economic partnership, and to identify strategic investment opportunities and develop projects that enhance bilateral and multilateral economic and trade cooperation.

Science, technology, and network security cooperation: The Parties agree to promote scientific and technical cooperation, including through the negotiation of appropriate arrangements for such cooperation.

They also agree to develop and share relevant standards, guidelines, and best practices with a view to each Party securing its networks, communications systems, software, and hardware.

Dispute resolution: Any divergence in views or disputes regarding the interpretation or application of this Agreement shall be resolved through consultation among the Parties.
