Bahrain King issues decree to restructure Foreign Affairs Ministry

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa issued Royal Decree (81) of 2023, amending some provisions of Decree (7) of 2023 on restructuring the Ministry of Foreign Affair, based on the proposal of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and following the approval of the Cabinet.

According to the decree, the texts of Paragraphs 7 and 8 of Article I of Decree (7) of 2023 on restructuring the ministry shall be replaced with the following:

Seventh: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Political Affairs, who oversees:

1. Director General of International Cooperation (at the rank of Assistant Undersecretary), who oversees: a. Chief of Al Madar Centre; b. Chief of the Organisations Sector;

2. Director General of Bilateral Relations (at the rank of Assistant Undersecretary), who oversees: a. Chief of the Asian and Pacific Ocean Affairs Sector; b. Chief of the Arab and African Affairs Sector; c. Chief of the European Affairs Sector; d. Chief of the Americas’ Affairs Sector; e. Chief of the GCC Affairs Sector.

Eighth: Undersecretary for Consular and Administrative Affairs, who oversees:

1. Chief of the Consular Services Sector;

2. The Directorate of Planning and Projects;

3. The Directorate of Information Systems;

4. Director General for Financial and Administrative Affairs (at the rank of Assistant Undersecretary), who oversees: a. The Directorate of Human Resources; b. The Directorate of Financial Resources; c. The Directorate of Administrative Affairs.

Directorate

His Majesty issued Royal Decree (80) of 2023, establishing a Directorate of Administrative and Services Affairs at the Office of the Special Representative of HM the King, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, based on a proposal by the Prime Minister, and following the approval of the Cabinet.

According to the decree, item (a) of Clause (7) of Article (I) of Royal Decree (50) of 2022 shall be replaced with the following: “a-Executive Director for Administrative and Financial Affairs (with the rank of Assistant Undersecretary), who shall be responsible for: The Directorate of Administrative and Services Affairs.”

BACA

HM King Hamad issued Decree (82) of 2023 restructuring the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BACA), based on the proposal of the Minister of Tourism, and following the approval of the Cabinet.

Article I: The BACA will be restructured as follows: Chief Executive Officer of BACA (at the rank of Undersecretary), who shall oversee:

1. Tourism Supervision Directorate;

2. Policy and Planning Directorate;

3. The Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Resources and Projects (at the rank of Assistant Undersecretary), who shall oversee: a. Resources and Information Directorate, b. Projects and Facilities Directorate,

4. The Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Marketing and Business Development (at the rank of Assistant Undersecretary), who shall oversee: a. Marketing and Promotion Directorate, b. Business Development and Licensing Directorate.

Article II: Decree (64) of 2021 restructuring the BACA shall be abrogated.

Ministry of Health

HM the King issued Royal Decree (83) of 2023, amending Article (I) of Decree (26) of 2021 on the reconstruction of the Health Ministry, based on a proposal by the Health Minister.
