Bahrain leaders hailed on global day of democracy

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, received cables of congratulations from Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh and Council of Representatives Speaker Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, marking the International Day of Democracy today, which comes under the theme “Empowering the Next Generation.”
Chairman Al Saleh and Speaker Al Musallam expressed their pride in Bahrain’s achievements, led by HM the King’s support and patronage of the legislative authority since the launch of the comprehensive development process to boost parliamentary and political participation.
They affirmed that these achievements contributed to a qualitative leap in the comprehensive development process and sustainable democratic reform, strengthening the state of law and institutions, as well as the advancement of parliamentary life and political participation, thereby improving Bahrain’s economic development, stability, and prosperity.
The Speaker noted that the National Action Charter, which underpinned principles for further developing the state of law and institutions, launched a new era of political development in the kingdom.
