Bahrain and Turkey discussed ways to bolster areas of joint cooperation and exchange of expertise and experiences, particularly in the housing sector.

This came as Housing and Urban Planning Minister Amna bint Ahmed Al Romaihi held a meeting with Mahinur Ozdemir Goktas, Turkish Minister of Family and Social Services, on the sideline of her participation in the Fifth Budapest Demographic Summit (BDS) in Hungary, deputised by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

Abdulla Abdullatif Abdulla, Berlin-resident Bahraini Ambassador to Hungary, attended the meeting. The two sides also discussed the topics on the agenda of the fifth BDS. Al Romaihi highlighted the Housing and Urban Planning Ministry’s plans to deliver housing services to the citizens, including the recently launched programmes to provide immediate and sustainable services, in partnership with the private sector, in addition to efforts to implement projects and services in housing cities.

The Turkish minister praised Bahrain’s efforts to provide housing services, in general, and affordable social housing, in particular, to the citizens, expressing Türkiye’s readiness to cooperate and exchange experiences with Bahrain to enrich the two countries’ plans.
