Christopher Paolini, 39, from the US West Coast city of Los Angeles, was 18 years old when his first novel, ‘Eragon’, was published, making him the youngest bestselling author recognized by Guinness World Records.

Decades went by, and now a Grade 12 student of the New Millennium School Bahrain (NMS) is set to give a tough competition by publishing her first novel and planning a science fiction series to follow.

The budding author, Arpita Elizabeth Sam, has named her debut novel ‘Music of The Fading Space’ and places it in the genre of dystopian apocalyptic science fiction.

The storyline is set in a distant future where Homo sapiens are forced to search for new frontiers for survival as storms, rising sea levels, and environmental hazards make life on the planet miserable.

Expressing happiness at being able to finish her first novel, Arpita says she plans to write many more novels going forward and win the most prestigious awards in the field of literature. She also expressed gratitude to her parents, the school’s principal, and the teachers for their constant motivation and guidance.

Congratulating the young novelist in their school, Principal Arun Kuumar Sharma said Arpita is gifted with a vivid imagination and has brilliant writing skills. In line with the school’s mission of ‘Discover the Child’, NMS always strives to recognize the potential in every child so as to ensure a rewarding and exceptional learning experience for the students who are to lead, excel, and contribute positively to the local and global community, the principal said.

NMS Chairman Dr. Ravi Pillai and Managing Director Geetha Pillai congratulated Arpita, her parents, and the school on the laudable achievement and wished that the book would further inspire many students to explore and exhibit their skills.
