Bahrain celebrated 33 years of German reunification yesterday with the presence of the Foreign Affairs Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani. The event was also attended by diplomats and high-level Bahraini government officials.
In his speech, Dr. Al Zayani strongly admired the tremendous efforts made by German businessmen and the community in contributing to the Kingdom’s economy. He also said that the strong relationship between Bahrain and Germany showcases the future development of both countries in many fields.
German Ambassador to Bahrain Clemens Hach highlighted the Kingdom’s role as a harbor of peace and stability in a world of growing uncertainties. He commended Bahrain’s strong commitment to religious freedom and peaceful coexistence, as evidenced by the visit of His Holiness Pope Francis, the successful hosting of the International Parliamentary Union, and the country’s role as a host nation to the Combined Maritime Force.
Ambassador Hach praised Bahrain’s solidarity with Ukraine, its path of normalisation with Israel, and its leadership in the field of human rights. He reiterated Germany’s support for Bahrain in all of these areas.
The celebration of German reunification in Bahrain is a testament to the strong ties between the two countries. It is also an opportunity to reflect on the importance of peace, stability, and cooperation in the world.
