Innovative education, training methods key to progress

Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, has stressed the importance of constantly developing the methods of education and training to cope with the goals of the comprehensive development process, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, which will benefit national competencies.

Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla indicated that methods should keep abreast of the most up-to-date trends and the best practices in the field of public administration in order to enable the public and private sectors to work in accordance with a unified institutional system, based on enhancing outputs and improving the quality of productivity, by linking training and professional development with career promotion and development of leadership skills, which will boost the national economy and achieve the Kingdom’s development aspirations.

The Deputy Premier made the statements while chairing the second meeting of the Board of Directors of the Institute of Public Administration (BIPA). Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla and board members congratulated Shaikh Duaij bin Salman bin Duaij Al Khalifa on the issuance of a royal decree, appointing him as President of the Civil Service Burau (CSB).

They also welcomed him to BIPA board. They also commended the efforts exerted by Ahmed Zayed Al Zayed to develop the civil service sector throughout his presidency of the CSB and membership of BIPA board.

During the meeting, Hamad bin Faisal Al Maliki, Cabinet Affairs Minister, was elected as Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of BIPA. The panel also approved BIPA’s annual plan for 2024, following the presentation of Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Duaij Al Khalifa, BIPA Director-General and BIPA board member.

It also reviewed BIPA’s annual training plan with CSB to determine the training needs of various government entities. The Board of Directors also reviewed BIPA’s cooperation with the Labour Fund (Tamkeen) in “Kheberat” programme, which aims to empower young Bahraini job seekers by developing their learning skills and providing them with practical experience through on-the-job training in private sector institutions.
