The Cabinet emphasised the significance of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s address during the opening ceremony of the second session of the sixth legislative term of the Shura Council and the Council of Representatives.

The address outlines HM the King’s visionary plans for the next phase of development and the national contributions expected. His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, yesterday chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting at Gudaibiya Palace.

The Cabinet affirmed that the King’s Royal Orders are the foundation for government work and it is honoured to implement them. It affirmed that the plan to preserve the historical and cultural identity of Bahrain’s buildings and cities and to launch the Muharraq City Development Plan will be implemented immediately, as per the Royal Order.

Top priority

The Cabinet noted that civilians’ protection should be a top priority in light of the current developments in the Gaza Strip between Palestinian factions and Israeli forces, calling for de-escalation and adherence to international humanitarian law.

The Cabinet emphasised the international community’s responsibility to end the armed conflict and protect civilian lives. It stressed the importance of supporting the peace process and reaching a diplomatic solution through negotiations to bring forth a two-state solution.
