Bilateral trade between Türkiye and Bahrain is expected to grow more in the next 15 years and beyond, according to speakers at a business meeting held yesterday at the InterContinental Hotel Bahrain.

The meeting was attended by representatives of Türkiye’s business community, led by H.E. Esin Cakil, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Bahrain, and Dr. Shaikha Eshaa Mohammed Al Khalifa, Vice President of Bahrain Businesswomen’s Society.

The meeting focused on exploring possibilities of bilateral trade to fulfill the global demand, exploring business opportunities, collaboration, cooperation and joint venture, and strengthening the trade relation between Turkey and Bahrain.

In her speech, Dr. Shaikha Eshaa said that there are many successful commercial agreements between Bahrain and Turkish companies, and that she is hopeful that more Bahraini businesses will follow suit.

Dr. Shaikha Eshaa said that “businesses should explore new avenues of trade.” She also noted that Bahrain invested $4 billion in Turkey between 2014 and 2017, while Turkish investment in Bahrain was $938 million.

In her speech, Ambassador Cakil said that the relationship between Turkey and Bahrain has significantly improved over the past 15 years, not only in the political field, but also in the fields of trade, investment, health, education, tourism, and culture.

She said: “I have no doubt that the bilateral relationship will continue to grow in the next 15 years and beyond.” Ambassador Cakil said that one of the main driving forces behind the growing economic and trade relationship between Turkey and Bahrain is the mutual desire to increase bilateral trade and investment.

The business meeting was a valuable opportunity for Turkish and Bahraini businesses to network and explore new opportunities for collaboration.
