Bahraini citizens and residents held a sit-in protest in front of the Palestinian Embassy building in Umm Al-Hasam, expressing solidarity and support for the Palestinian people and condemning Israeli aggression.
The protesters demanded the opening of borders to provide essential supplies like medicine, water, and food to the besieged Palestinians and demanded Arab, Islamic, and international community action to stop the war and its atrocities against civilians.
Representatives from civil society associations and institutions, as well as the Palestinian Ambassador to Bahrain, Taha Abdel Qadir, participated in the sit-in. Mr Qadir expressed gratitude to Bahrain's His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for his royal directives to provide urgent aid to the Palestinians.
He praised the sit-in for showcasing Bahrain's firm and popular position towards the Palestinian cause and their rights, including the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The ambassador emphasized the need for legitimate resistance in the face of aggression and called on the international community and the United Nations to deliver aid and open safe borders for the people of Gaza.
