PM, Russian envoy review trade ties
Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has received a letter from his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev, who congratulated him on his birthday and invited him for an official visit to Russia.
This came as the Premier received at Gudaibiya Palace yesterday the Russian Ambassador to Bahrain Vagif Garaev, who handed over the letter to him.
The Prime Minister voiced pride in the good feelings expressed by Prime Minister Medvedev towards him, which, he said, reflects the advanced level of the solid Bahraini- Russian relations.
The Premier stressed on the keenness on bolstering cooperation and coordination between the two countries in various fields through intensifying exchanged visits between officials and businessmen to be informed about the implementation process of joint cooperation projects and increase them.
The Prime Minister reviewed with the Russian envoy ways to bolster bilateral relations through increasing areas of joint cooperation, praising Russia’s international clout and role in supporting global peace, stability and security.
The meeting also touched upon the latest global developments and their security challenges, especially those related to terrorism.
In this regard, Prince Khalifa stressed that countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), particularly Saudi Arabia, reject terrorism and are fighting the ideology behind it. GCC states have been the first countries to cooperate with the International Community to support its efforts to combat terrorism, the Premier said.
