Bahrain King’s Italy visit to seek solutions for Gaza conflict

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain will arrive in Italy today (Oct. 16) on a visit during which he will meet with His Holiness Pope Francis.

HM King Hamad will also hold talks with Italian President Sergio Mattarella and Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to discuss Bahraini-Italian ties and topics of common interest.

The meeting will review the Israeli military escalation in the Gaza Strip and push forward efforts towards a comprehensive and just peace in the Middle East region. HM the King had met in the UK with His Majesty King Charles III.

They reviewed the close historical partnership between Bahrain and the UK and the means of further developing it in various domains. HM the King also discussed regional and international developments with British government officials, including the Israeli war on Gaza and working to end the military escalation, prioritising civilian protection, and opening safe corridors for humanitarian aid.

HM King Hamad emphasised the importance of achieving just, lasting peace to consolidate regional security and stability.
