Global Organization of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO) Bahrain Chapter hosts gathering

The Global Organization of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO) Bahrain Chapter hosted a gathering at the Crowne Plaza Bahrain to welcome the newly appointed ambassador of India to Bahrain, HE Vinod K Jacob, and to felicitate the appointment of Sunny Kulathakal as the Chairman of GOPIO International.

He has previously served as the Middle East and International Co-Ordinator, Executive Vice President, International President, and Global Ambassador in the past two decades with the GOPIO. This is the first time a person from the Middle East has been appointed as the chairman of this global organization.

Mr. Jacob mentioned the support and contribution of the GOPIO during the COVID period while he was working at the Indian Embassy in Sri Lanka. The ambassador congratulated the appointment of the new global chairman and wished him the best.

The Capital Governorate's Information Director, Yusuf Lori, was the guest of honour. He reiterated the historical collaboration between India and Bahrain and welcomed further cooperation for the benefit of the people of both countries.

MSCEB Chairman Engr. Mohamed Salahuddin, as a guest of honour, recalled his association with the Indian diaspora and Mr. Kulathakal, with whom he had many memorable trips to India.

GOPIO's general secretary, Roshan George, presented the soft launch of the digital platform, which is aimed at helping society bridge the gap between a digitally advancing society and the common people's everyday hassles.

ICRF Chairman Dr. Babu Ramachandran, Soman Baby, and ICRF Vice President V. K. Thomas gave felicitation speeches. Bahrain Chapter President Tina Mathew gave a welcome speech, and Vice President Samuel Paul proposed a vote of thanks. The function was attended by many dignitaries and eminent personalities from Bahrain's socio-business sector.
