HM King Hamad praises deep Bahraini-Russian ties

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa commended the depth of Bahraini-Russian relations and the level of advancement it achieved in various domains in light of the joint keenness to further enhance them.
This came as HM the King received Alexey Skosyrev, Russian Ambassador to Bahrain, Grigory Velikikh, Roscongress Foundation Deputy CEO, and Tomashoff Vladimir from Kamchatka Falcon Centre.
The meeting was attended by Lieutenant General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, His Highness Colonel Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), General Sports Authority (GSA) Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) President.
The Russian delegation expressed their appreciation to His Majesty for his keenness and interest to strengthening close relations and developing means of cooperation between the two countries. HM King Hamad welcomed the Russian Ambassador and the accompanying delegation who conveyed to His Majesty the greetings and appreciation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, and his wishes of further prosperity to Bahrain and its people.
HM King Hamad relayed his greetings and good wishes to President Putin and wished the people of Russia further prosperity. HM the King expressed his thanks to the Russian President and his appreciation for his efforts in further enhancing the historic relations between the two countries.
Appreciation
His Majesty was presented with a falcon of a rare Siberian breed as a gift from President Putin. The gift reflects the Russian leader’s appreciation of HM King Hamad, as well as the relations between the two leaders.
HM King Hamad also was presented with another gift from the Kamchatka Falcon Centre which is another falcon from a rare breed. HM the King affirmed the keenness of Bahrain in protecting endangered species, noting the cultural heritage associated with falconry. HM added that the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE) supported signing the Declaration of Intent for “World Falcon Day” aimed at protecting endangered falcon species.
