The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) is keen to build balanced relations with civil society institutions, promote a legal and human rights culture, and to continue developing its work and efforts as an independent, neutral, and strong platform for defending human rights in Bahrain.

This was affirmed by NIHR president Ali Ahmed Al Derazi as he took part in the work of the Seventh International Scientific and Practical Conference, hosted by the Russian capital, Moscow, at the invitation of the High Commission for Human Rights in the Russian Federation, on issues of human rights protection and better exchange Ombudsman practices.

In his speech, Al Derazi spoke about the mechanism of the institution’s work, the amendments in its establishment law, and the role the institution played in protecting human rights in the Kingdom. The meeting brought together representatives of human rights institutions and ombudsmen to discuss topics related to the protection of human rights and the exchange of expertise and best practices in their line of work.

It concluded by issuing decisions and recommendations that promote cooperation in the field of upholding human rights, basic freedoms, social justice and human dignity.
