Bahrain keen to boost solid relations with UK

Bahrain is committed to enhancing its growing UK partnership across various fields in line with joint aspirations. This was emphasised by the Deputy King, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, as he held a telephone call yesterday with the United Kingdom’s Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, The Rt Hon James Cleverly.
They discussed the longstanding ties between the Bahrain and the UK, which are based on solid foundations of strategic cooperation. Regional and international developments, particularly the situation in the Gaza Strip, were also reviewed.
Immediate de-escalation
HRH the Deputy King underlined the importance of immediate de-escalation and the protection of civilians. HRH Prince Salman noted the importance of opening urgent humanitarian corridors to deliver food, water, electricity and medical aid into the Gaza Strip.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister stressed the importance of unifying efforts to ensure de-escalation, and urgent ceasefire that supports regional security and stability, and the interests of regional countries and their citizens.
He said that lasting peace is the only way for achieving the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, emphasising the need for the global community to unite in support of efforts to consolidate stability, security and prosperity for all the peoples of the region.
