Royal sound vision ‘roadmap for regional stability and peace’

Council of Representatives Speaker Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam has asserted that the sound vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, is an effective civilised approach to end all conflicts, contain crises and back efforts to achieve comprehensive peace.

He indicated that the call made by HM the King while addressing the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit in Riyadh, to immediately halt the ongoing escalation in the Gaza Strip, protect civilians from both sides, release detained civilians, open urgent humanitarian corridors to allow medical and relief aid, food, water and electricity into the Gaza Strip, as well as prevent the displacement of the Gazans from their homes, neighbourhoods and land of ancestors, is a wise stance that outlines the basic requirements for regional security and stability.

Al Musallam affirmed that HM the King’s speech confirmed Bahrain’s fundamental deep-rooted position in support of the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, stressing that Palestine will remain among Bahrain’s main priorities.

Parliamentary support

Speaker Al Musallam underlined full parliamentary support for consolidating the principle of “trust of partnership” through strong and influential alliances, as well as strategic GCC-ASEAN cooperation, particularly regarding trade, investment.
