The first shipment of Gaza-bound Bahraini humanitarian relief aid has arrived at the El Arish International Airport in Egypt. This comes following the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Honorary President of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF), and under the auspices of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs.
The consignment was handed to the Egyptian Red Crescent, ahead of its entry to the Gaza Strip. Once in Gaza, it will be delivered to the Palestine Red Crescent Society which will oversee its distribution to the Palestinians and hospitals in Gaza.
On the occasion, Dr. Mustafa Al Sayed. RHF Secretary-General, lauded HM the King’s directives to dispatch urgent humanitarian relief aid to the Palestinians in Gaza, praising the support accorded by the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to the RHF.
He also paid tribute to HH Shaikh Nasser for leading the RHF’s humanitarian efforts. Dr. Al Sayed indicated that the first relief aid shipment, including 40 tonnes of medical, food, and relief supplies and materials, will contribute to meeting the basic needs of the brotherly Palestinian people in Gaza in the midst of the ongoing circumstances.
He added that the Bahrain National Committee for Supporting the Palestinians in Gaza will launch more initiatives and step up its efforts in support of the Palestinians, based on the fraternal Bahraini-Palestinian relations, affirming that Bahraini stands with the Palestinian people during this humanitarian ordeal to support them and alleviate their suffering.
