Man dies in accident at Shaikh Hamad Bridge

A motorcyclist died in a traffic accident that took place yesterday at Shaikh Hamad Bridge. According to the Interior Ministry, the person lost control of his motorcycle, leading to the accident.

“A motorcyclist died when he lost control of his vehicle on Shaikh Hamad Bridge towards Muharraq. Police took necessary steps,” the Ministry stated in its official Twitter account yesterday.

Social media accounts circulated graphic images of the accident.

Various users called for banning companies from sending employees for delivery on two-wheelers, stating that it is too dangerous.

“How many times and how many lives will go like this, the government should ban deliveries on bikes and put strict penalties on the owners if they use bikes for deliveries. Who will be responsible for his life, don’t know whose mistake it was and don’t know if owner will pay amount to his family,” a user stated.

The Ministry also stated that there was another accident during the day, causing traffic congestion.

“Heavy traffic on Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman highway towards Manama because of the traffic accident.

Drivers are urged to seek alternative roads”.
