Bahrain is gearing up for an exciting camping season in the Sakhir desert, and this year, campers can look forward to an innovative digital app under the “Kheyyam” initiative.

The app, called “Aljunobya,” is available in both Arabic and English and aims to make the preparation and experience of camping in the desert easier and more enjoyable than ever before.

The designated campsites and zones for families, couples, and singletons are clearly marked on the map, providing campers with a comprehensive overview of the available options.

Registration opens on Thursday, November 2.

At the forefront of promoting responsible camping, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa emphasises the importance of adhering to camping regulations and embracing the approved camping map.

In an effort to encourage friendly competition and showcase the best camps, HH Shaikh Nasser has given the green light for a thrilling camping competition.

Starting on November 10 and continuing until February 29, campers will have the chance to win a weekly cash prize for the best camp during the season.

The Southern Governorate, in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior and the Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco Energies), has worked tirelessly to establish guidelines and requirements to ensure a memorable camping experience.

The safety and well-being of campers, as well as the protection of the environment and wildlife, are key priorities for HH Shaikh Nasser.
