The registration period for the 2023-2024 camping season has commenced, witnessing an unprecedented response to the electronic tent initiative. Through the Southern Governorate application for smart devices, campers can register electronically, with over 1,850 camps recorded within the first few hours.

The initiative aims to enhance interaction and streamline the application process for campers, while promoting innovation and digital transformation in the governorate’s services. This was confirmed by His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Governor of the Southern Governorate.

He praised the directives of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, regarding the allocation of a weekly financial prize for the best camp in the upcoming camping season. The evaluation phase of the camps will commence from November 10, 2023, and continue until the end of the season on February 29, 2024.

Preserve environment

Emphasising the importance of community and security cooperation, His Highness the Governor highlighted the need to preserve the environment and wildlife during the wilderness season. Campers are required to adhere to the regulations, follow the approved season map, and comply with safety measures and instructions provided on the governorate’s websites.

These measures ensure the success of the season, maintaining the highest security, environmental, and regulatory standards. The governorate welcomes all inquiries and comments through the communication channels regarding the 2023- 2024 camping season via email campers@southern.gov.bh, or via phone number 17750000, or via instant chat through the Aljunobya application. Or through the National Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul).
