The Ministry of Municipalities and Agriculture has revealed that it currently owns a total agricultural land area of 34.94 hectares.
This land is distributed across five different agricultural areas, including the Botanical Garden (9.9 hectares), the Eastern Farm (6.86 hectares), the Southern Farm (1.18 hectares), Hoora Aali (11 hectares), and Tubli Farm (6 hectares).
The ministry emphasised that there is no need to develop private lands for agricultural purposes, as modern technologies allow for cultivation on any suitable land.
Utilising soil-less agricultural methods, such as hydroponics, is seen as a promising solution to overcome the challenges of limited natural resources like water and land.
By adopting these modern techniques, farmers can avoid common issues like plant diseases and pests, resulting in higher quantity and quality of produce.
