The Oil and Environment Minister, H.E. Dr. Mohamed bin Mubarak bin Daina, has pledged to address the issue of a significant amount of oil waste leaking into the rain drainage channel on the Ma’ameer Coast.
This was confirmed by the Bahrain Parliament's Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee chairman, Mohsen Al Asboul.
This comes after repeated complaints from the residents of the Ma’ameer area regarding the oil flow into the drainage channel.
MP Al Asboul personally followed up on the matter with Dr. Mohamed, who is also the Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, as he assured him that a specialised team would be sent today to investigate and examine the environmental leak and remove the oil spill from the coast.
Al Asboul expressed his gratitude for the prompt response from the Ministry of Oil and Environment and the Supreme Council for the Environment in addressing the concerns of the affected region.
