HRH Prince Salman invited to attend COP28 in Dubai

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, received a written letter from the UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, which included an official invitation to attend the 28th United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), which will be held in Expo City, Dubai.

It was delivered to HRH Prince Salman by the Ambassador of the UAE to the Kingdom of Bahrain, H.E. Shaikh Sultan bin Hamdan Al Nahyan. This came as His Royal Highness yesterday met with H.E. Shaikh Sultan bin Hamdan at Riffa Palace.

The Minister of Finance and National Economy, H.E. Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, also attended the meeting. HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister highlighted the depth of Bahrain-UAE longstanding relations, noting the Kingdom’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties, in line with the visions of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the UAE President, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Greetings

H.E. Shaikh Sultan bin Hamdan also extended the greetings of HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid to HRH Prince Salman, and the latter conveyed his own greetings to the UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. His Royal Highness highlighted the UAE’s efforts in hosting COP28, the UN’s 28th annual meeting on climate change, noting the UAE’s ongoing efforts to address climate change and achieve environmental security.

HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to supporting international endeavours to achieve climate goals and a sustainable future. H.E. Shaikh Sultan bin Hamdan thanked HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for his support of the Bahrain-UAE robust partnership.
