Bhavans-Bahrain Indian School clinch glory in CBSE Cluster Inter-School Sports Competition

Students of Bhavans - Bahrain Indian School (BIS) put up a brilliant show in the recently concluded CBSE Cluster (Bahrain Chapter) Inter School Sports Competition.
ll CBSE schools in the Kingdom of Bahrain participated in the multi-disciplinary sports event which is conducted every year.
BIS’s Boys & Girls Team lifted the Table Tennis title in the Under-14 Category. BIS Boys’ team consisting of talented trio of Sujay Sunil Bayalan (Grade VI), Suyash Sunil Bayalan (Grade VI), and Daksh Choudhary (Grade VIII) secured the gold medal by defeating the team from New Millennium School.
The triumphs continued with the Under 14 Girls Table Tennis team, comprising of Anaya Joem (Grade VI), Veda Harisankar Menon (Grade VI), and Sarah Jojy (Grade VIII), Eshal Fathima ( Grade VIII) clinching the Gold Medal defeating the Asian School team.
The school’s Under 17 Boys Tennis team of Sunish Sunil Bayalan (Grade IX), Shubh Dimri (Grade IX) and Ahan Prabhu (Grade VII) won silver medal.
The under-14 badminton team of Bahrain Indian School consisting of Krishnan Manikandan (VIII), Pranay Vijay Sagar (Grade VIII) and Tanish Sharma (VIII) emerged as champions, securing the gold medal after beating New Millennium School team.
BIS chess team clinched gold medal in Under 14 Girls and silver medal in the Under 17 Boys Chess competitions, respectively.
U14 Girls Team consisting of Ayushi Dash (Grade VIII), Gargi Kandikatla (Grade VII), Hanna Rachel Tom (Grade VI), Hansika (Grade VII) outwitted Al Noor International School in the finals to clinch gold medal.
The Under 17 Boys Chess team comprising Kaushik Redla (Grade IX), Anugrah Roy (Grade IX), Pranav Bobby Sekhar (Grade IX) and Ishan Jinesh (Grade IX) secured the silver medal after the final with New Millennium School team.
In Athletics, Sunish Sunil Bayalan of Grade 9 secured a Gold medal the 1500-meter race in Under 17 Boys category.
Syeda Hiba Fathima Arshad of Grade 7 clinched a Gold medal in the 100-meter race in the Under 14 Girls category.
Parvathy Cherupullil Bibin of Grade 12 won a Bronze medal in 100-meter race in Under 19 Girls category.
In the Under 14 girls’ 4x100-meter relay race, the team comprising Meagan Prabhu of Grade 8, Hanna Rachel Tom of Grade 6, Mayookha Roopchand of Grade 8, and Syeda Hiba Fathima Arshad of Grade 7 secured a Bronze medal.
In the U-17 boys 3000-meter race, Sunish Sunil Bayalan of Grade IX clinched gold. Alton Victor of Grade XI secured silver medal in U-19 boys’ 5000-meter race.
Mayookha Roopchand of Grade VIII won silver in 800-meter race in the U-14 age group while Meagan Prabhu secured bronze medal in 200-meter race.
All Gold Medalist got the eligibility to represent Bahrain and participate in the ‘Indian National CBSE Schools Championships’ which is scheduled to be held in India.
The Directors of the school, Himanshu Verma, Ritu Verma, and Principal Saji Jacob congratulated the winners and the Physical Education Teachers.
