Curtain rises for Jewellery  Arabia 2015 expo today

Under the patronage of Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Jewellery Arabia 2015, Middle East’s premier jewellery and watch exhibition, will be inaugurated at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre (BIECC) today. The 24th annual exhibition will run until November 28.

Over 600 exhibitors from 30 countries will showcase their precious wares across an area of 21,000 square metres at the venue, which includes specially commissioned temporary halls. A dazzling range of finished jewellery, luxury timepieces, precious stones, antiques, objects d’art, jewellery packaging and technology from around the globe will be displayed for sale. People aged 16 and above can visit the expo from4pmto10pmfrom November 24 to 27 and from 12 pm to 10 pm on November 28. The entry is free.

Throughout the five-day exhibition, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism will provide gemology and precious metal testing services to the buying public through the Directorate of Precious Metals and Gemstone Testing in addition to the support for patents, design and trade mark through the Industrial Property Office.

Participating international exhibitors will be representing Australia, Bahrain, Belgium, Brazil, China, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Kuwait, Latvia, Lebanon, Lithuania, Malaysia, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, the UAE, the UK and the US. Hong Kong, India, Italy, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Turkey, the UK and the US will be hosting Country Pavilions. Meanwhile Industry, Commerce and Tourism Minister Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani conducted an inspection visit to Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre to assess the ongoing preparations for the expo yesterday.

The Minister was assured about the working process in various section in the exhibition; there will be about 600 global companies of watches, pearls and precious stones coming from about 29 countries in addition to the participation of several Bahraini Jewellery stores.
