Bahrain is facing new atmospheric instability today (Nov 16), characterized by heavy thunderstorms, strong gusts, rising sea waves, and rising dust.

This is due to the deepening of a cold upper air low on the northern part of the Arabian Peninsula, which is loaded with water vapour.

Rainstorms are expected to form over this area, and they have begun to intensify over Bahrain since yesterday (Nov 15) evening. The High Heat Index indicates that thunderstorms with extreme downpour winds will form high today.

The high temperature will be 29°C, the low will be 22°C, and the overall southeast winds will be 5 to 10 knots and 12 to 17 knots, with gusts possible at 35 knots.

Waves will be one foot to two feet near offshore and 2 to 4 feet at sea width and may reach up to 8 feet during gusts. The Meteorological Department advises the public to exercise caution and follow official warnings.
