First national event held for cyber readiness exercises

The National Center for Cybersecurity held the first national event for cyber readiness exercises, at the headquarters of the Royal Police Academy. Taking part were an elite group of specialists in the field of cybersecurity and a number of institutions from various vital sectors.

The aim of the event was to to build national capabilities capable of defending Bahraini cyberspace and make it a safe space. His Excellency Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, CEO of the National Cybersecurity Center, explained that in light of the unprecedented modern challenges, and with cyber threats increasing day by day in a world interconnected by digital networks, cyberspace has become an integral part of our daily, economic and security lives, and cyber threats have become It knows no borders and does not differentiate between small or large organisations, making cybersecurity a shared responsibility that falls on everyone’s shoulders.

He also stressed that holding cyber readiness exercises aims to measure cyber readiness and simulate virtual attacks in vital institutions and sectors, by implementing response procedures including monitoring, analysis, containment, removal, and then recovery and benefiting from cyber incidents.

The cyber readiness exercises brought together various specialists in the field of cyber security from sectors in the Kingdom of Bahrain, in order to test cyber readiness and enhance local expertise and skills in this field.
